Brunswick: Tom Phat

Aightttt! I had been busy with my workload, it's so hard to find time to even draft out a short post. Here's one! Back for the umpteenth time, Tom Phat at Brunswick! :D It is pretty accessible via Tram 19 from Elizabeth Street and is a short 15 minutes ride from Queen Victoria Market.

I first discovered this place last semester with my cousin. Back then, we'd been on a constant run for good brunch places in Melbourne and what defines good to us usually meant somewhere that serves unique dishes or stands out amongst the usual brunches! Undeniably, Tom Phat has been one of my favourite places for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Well this post, will be mainly on brunch with my 2 other girlfriends ;)

Essential Latte Shot ;D
Roti Omelette Wok-Tossed Egg & Roti w/ Bacon, Chives & Roasted Tomato Salsa

Viet Fried Eggs w/ Chilli Soy, Fried Shallots & Hanoi Baguette

Uncle's Ho Brekky w/ Grilled Pork Chop, Crispy Fried Egg, Tomato, Cucumber & Rice

Tom Phat is considered a Viet-Thai fusion cuisine where it provides a modern twist to its asian food menu. The Roti-Omelette has always been at the tip of my tongue when my friends and i talk about hunts over the best-brunches in Melbourne. Each plate contains generous amount of bacon tossed within the egg and roti. It kinda reminds me of Egg-Prata but with significant portion of omelette accompanies with not curry, but roasted tomato salsa! Mehhhh, it complemented the simple dish so~ well~ surprisingly, as i initially thought this was rather peculiar combination when it was first served to me in a "messy" state.

We actually intended to order the baked eggs, but i guess the waiter heard us wrong, hence the viet-eggs came by surprise. We all felt it was a rather simple and there was nothing special that aroused out of it. Hmm, guess the crispy hanoi baguette was good though!

Topped with EGGS again, was Uncle's Ho Brekky. Don't ask me who Uncle Ho is, cause i have no clue either. It was my second time sharing this dish. I think they over-grilled the pork chop and it came in a rather small serving this time, just good to satisfy someone with small appetite like me LOL.  :/ But the marinate was complete! I love how every bite i took still gives me the succulent taste of meat (despite being a very picky omnivore).

Well, my overall dining experience with Tom Phat is still awesome, as you can tell from my frequent visits back there! I might find time (soon) to post regarding their dinner menu! Till thennn ;) My next post will be on Little Creatures Cafe!
